Prayer Night - Friday, May 16
Join the Envision, Eucharistic Adoration, Order of St. Luke, and Prayer Chain Ministries for an inspiring evening of prayer especially for our parish, priests, and people. Friday, May 16, 2008 from 7:00pm to 8:30pm.
Discernment Day - Saturday, May 31
The Envision Ministry started last January
aiming at reaching what the US Council of Catholic Bishops call the
“three goals for evangelization for Catholics” – the continual
conversion of the individual; to invite all people to hear the message
of salvation in Jesus Christ; and to foster Gospel values in our society.
We began with an in-pew survey that asked
our parishioners to formulate or parish’s strengths and weaknesses.
From the information gathered, we formed multiple focus groups to address
these strengths and weaknesses in particular areas.
The next step in this process brought
us to Listening Day in April, where 78 parishioners gathered to voice
their opinions about our parish’s strengths and weaknesses as well
as their views for what should be the future of our parish life.
The next phase is Discernment Day. During
this process we again will meet in an open forum to relay what we learned
from listening day, and to discuss the strengths and weaknesses of our
parish that have been brought to light. And then, together we will
work on formulating a plan to improve our parish.
As we continue through the discernment
process, we are asking that you please invite your ministry members
to join in and strengthen our voice. Many suggestions, requests, comments
and opinions can be addressed for and by members of all ministries,
and as we begin to formulate plans to improve our parish, we will hope
to partner with all ministries to improve our parish.
The Envision, Eucharistic Adoration,
Order of St. Luke and Prayer Chain ministries will be hosting an evening
of prayer for the Parish, People and Priests. We all know the power
of prayer and hope all members of your ministry will attend first our
prayer night on Friday May 16, 2008, 7:00
– 8:30 PM. As we pray for our Priests, Parish and People.
Make sure your voice is heard, please
encourage your ministry members to join in on Discernment Day on
Saturday May 31 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM.
As a parish, we are on a journey, and as we travel this road, we hope to work with all ministries in envisioning the future of our parish.
